Unity is a creative, practical, progressive approach to spirituality. It teaches how to apply in everyday life the principles of Truth taught and exemplified by our Elder Brother and Master Teacher Jesus the Christ. Unity is a way of life that leads to health, prosperity, happiness, and peace of mind. There are Unity centers throughout the world where people study and practice the Unity way of life.
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. Therefore, we recognize the importance of serving all people within the Unity family in spiritually and emotionally caring ways. Unity ministries, publications, and programs reach out to all who seek Unity support and spiritual growth. Our ministries do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability, or sexual orientation.
Unity teachings are based on universal spiritual principles that run like a thread through the world’s religions. These are laws that seem to govern humankind no matter where we live, how we view the Divine, or even whether we are aware these principles exist. They have been expressed in many ways through thousands of years, but the essence of them is these five principles:
- God/Creative Spirit is the Eternal, Perfect, Absolute Good at work in the universe and within me.
- Since we are all one with God/Creative Spirit, we are divinely, perfectly, and unquestionably good.
- We create a life that works through positive thoughts and ideas, joyful and life-affirming words, and then taking action as if our desired good is already manifested.
- Affirmative prayer and meditation is the pathway to the realization of our oneness with God/Creative Spirit.
- Life is a celebration, and it is my responsibility to show up for the divine party that the Universe is throwing for us all.
