Unity of Broward Spiritual Center

Teddy Bear Christmas

What child can resist a cuddly teddy bear to love? And what if that teddy bear also held the loving energy of our spiritual community?

This year Unity of Broward is celebrating “Teddy Bear Christmas:”

  • On November 24, December 1, December 8 or December 15, bring a cuddly new teddy bear (at least 1 foot tall) to church. A red bow at the neck wold be a nice touch!
  • Hold it throughout the service and pour your loving energy into it.
  • At the end of the service, leave the bear in your seat until the following week, when you or someone else will hold your bear during the service.

After December 15, we will collect all these love-filled bears and bring them to Rock Island Elementary School and give them to the pre-K and kindergarten students. Rock Island Elementary School is a Title 1 school in Ft. Lauderdale that has a large number of underserved children in its student body, many of whom may not receive any gift at Christmastime.

We need 127 bears in order to give one to each pre-K or kindergartner in the school. So bring one – bring two! All bears will be placed in the arms of a deserving little one, bringing them joy and love at Christmas!
